COA: Makati still the Philippines’ richest city, Cebu the richest province

With total assets worth US$4.48 billion in 2018, Makati City is still the wealthiest city in the Philippines. The worth of Makati’s assets increased by US$680 million increase from US$3.80 billion in 2017.

Placing a far second is Quezon City, with assets worth $1.69 billion in 2018. Quezon City’s total assets are up by US$370 million compared with its 2017 total of US$1.32 billion.

Among provinces, Cebu remains the richest with $690 million in total assets in 2018, which is $30 million over the 2017 record of $660 million. Behind it in second place is mineral-rich Compostela Valley with $380 million, followed by Batangas with $350 million and Rizal with $348 million.
