Philippines named as the best SEA Games organizer

The Sports Industry Awards (SPIA) Asia has named the Philippine Southeast Asia Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) as the Best SEA Games organizer. This award recognizes PHISGOC’s achievement in organizing the best SEA games, their efforts in staging world-class opening ceremonies, and organizing 56 sports and 530 events in total.
SPIA Asia Awards is an award-giving body in Asia that focuses on recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the Asian sports industry for the past years. It also organizes sports conferences, recognizes, and celebrates Asia’s Top 10 in 25 distinct awards categories including the Asia’s Best Sportsman and Asia’s Best Sports Woman category, with gold, silver, and bronze being awarded to the best performers.
SPIA CEO Eric Gottschalk handed the award to PHISGOC chairman Alan Peter Cayetano and PHISGOC chief operating officer Ramon Suzara during a conference held in Grand Hyatt Hotel. Suzara expressed his gratitude to the SPIA and stressed that the recognition will inspire the PHISGOC workforce to work harder and do better in the remaining days of the biennial meet
