“They’re glad dahil nakabawi na sila,” says Ricky Davao who is now taping a new show, “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit”, where he plays the husband of Nora Aunor and their scenes are shot in the grape vineyards in La Union, as directed by Laurice Guillen.
GMA’s Afternoon Prime used to lord it over in that slot with “Ika-6 na Utos”, a show about infidelity starring Sunshine Dizon and Gabby Concepcion. The ones which replaced it are not as successful but now, the new show about infidelity, “Magkaagaw”, once again starring Sunshine Dizon as Laura, is a certified hit.

GMA gives credit to Sunshine but also acknowledges the big contribution of Sheryl Cruz as Veron, Jeric Gonzales as Jio and Klea Pineda as Clarisse. Sunshine and Klea provide all the drama as the wronged women, but it’s Sheryl and Jeric who make the screen sizzle with their scorching hot love scenes as the illicit lovers. Really, viewers never get tire of stories and shows that center on marital infidelity. It appears like it’s so common most viewers can easily identify with it.
“Mukhang nage-enjoy si Sheryl sa kissing scenes pa lang,” says one writer. “Cougar na cougar ang dating niya at talagang open mouth kissing siya lagi with Jeric who’s proving to be a credible drama actor in his first mature role. Finally, natalbugan na niya si Ruru Madrid na naunang pinasikat ng GMA sa kanya pero hindi naman nag-rate ang ‘Sherlock Jr.’ nito. Si Jeric, bawing-bawi sa ‘Magkaagaw’.”
Meantime, “Prima Donnas” is now giving its toughest rival, “Kadenang Ginto”, a run for its money. Wendell Ramos as Jaime agreed to undergo a DNA test with Katrina Halili as Lilian and Jillian Ward, Althea Ablan and Sofia Pablo as the three donnas oppressed by Aiko Melendez as Kendra. No doubt this will determine if the three tweens are really the missing heiresses of the wealthy Claveria family headed by Chanda Romero and not just opportunistic impostors.
As for “Madrasta”, it’s rating has really picked up and its telecast has been extended. Its regular viewers are happy that Juancho Trivino as Sean, who was afflicted with amnesia, has finally regained his memory and now recognizes Arra San Agustin as Audrey as his new wife. But villain Thea Tolentino as Katarine is all bent in continuing to harrass them and make their lives miserable.
