Student fell from 5th floor of a mall in QC, dead

A senior high school student died after falling off an escalator on the fifth floor of a shopping mall in Quezon City on Saturday.

The student from San Francisco High School fell off an escalator inside SM City North Edsa Annex at Barangay Santo Cristo at around 5:37 p.m.

The teenager was still rushed to the QC General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The Quezon City Police District's Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit is already probing the incident to determine if foul play was involved.

The mall management has yet to issue a statement on the incident.
