"There is a need to give ample time to travel to and from the different regions nationwide to celebrate with their families," Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said, quoting portions of the capital's Executive Order No. 48 that he signed Wednesday afternoon.

Officials from Manila's disaster, health, parking and engineering offices are still expected to "operate and continue to render the necessary services" during the 4-day long weekend, the mayor said.
