The inspiration of the costume was our National Bird, the Philippine Eagle or Haribon, the critically endangered species of 400. This Costume was designed by Cary Santiago and costs 314,000 pesos.

The Philippines first won the National Costume award when the Miss Universe was presented to the Philippines in 1994. Charlene Gonzales a Top 6 Finalist, has won the special award. Special mention is Zorayda Ruth Andam, 2nd place for this category at the Miss Universe 2001.
Ganados is one of the Top 20 Semi Finalists of this year’s Miss Universe. This is the tenth time that the Philippines has been included in the Semi-Finalist since 2010. Venus Raj ended the ten year drought since 2000.
