Senior Citizen got a job in Jollibee

A netizen had a chance to interact with one of the senior citizens who was hired by a fastfood chain through a program of the City of Manila.

While enjoying her lunch, uploader Arlene Escalona said she saw Tatay Danny, a 75-year-old service crew at a fastfood chain in Bustillos-Legarda, Manila on Friday.

“Nakaramdam ako ng tuwa na makita siya. Naisip ko na in spite of his age he was given the opportunity to work at hindi maging stagnant lang sa bahay nila,” she said.

Escalona and Tatay Danny had a little conversation about their lives and family. He also willingly smiled for the camera when Escalona took a photo of him.

“Mababawasan na ‘yung mga aged population natin na nagiging miserable [ang] buhay dahil wala na silang pagkakataon buhayin [‘yung] sarili nila o bilhin kahit pang maintenance na gamot nila dahil sa pagiging over aged sa trabaho,” she added.
