Teodoro said the 86-year-old resident was one of the four confirmed cases announced by the Department of Health (DOH) Sunday night.
The mayor said the male patient is a resident of Marikina but noted that the case is not a local transmission for the patient has a travel history to South Korea.

Teodoro assured that measures to avoid the spread of the disease are in place. The mayor has also ordered the contact tracing of those who was in close contact with the patient.

The mayor said the city government will handle the containment of the disease in the city “aggressively.”
Teodoro has already ordered for a “massive disinfection” of public places in Marikina, including schools, malls, parks, commercial establishments, and government offices.
He ordered the postponement of the Palarong Pambansa, which will be held in the city in May, following the confirmation of the lone case in Marikina.
He also ordered the postponement of assemblies, particularly those with senior citizens in attendance for they are the most susceptible to the disease.
“Buong komunidad, nasa private sector o sa public, lahat tayo sa Marikina tulong-tulong,” he said.
Teodoro ordered that hand sanitizers should be available at all times in schools, malls, and government offices.
“Observe proper hygiene,” Teodoro said.
The mayor said the patient is now in isolation in a private hospital.
